Murika is een samenwerkingsverband van 10 associaties in Giheta en omgeving:
ABANAMARIMWE, BAREZI,DUFASHANYE, GARUKIRIBIBONDO, GARUKIRIMPFUVYI, KARIRE,KEZA,SHIRUKUBUTE, TWIGUMYE, ZINARYAKUNZE. In MURIKA NETWORK. Er zijn 173 weduwen en 15 arme weduwnaars die de zorg en educatie van weeskinderen op zich hebben genomen. In juni 2008 heeft Help Burundi projecten van het Murika samenwerkingsverband gefinancierd. Met deze financiering zijn er verschillende projecten opgestart, zoals landbouw, geitenhouderij, varkens en andere bedrijfjes. In bijgevoegde rapportage (in het Engels) met bijbehorende foto's vind u meer informatie over het goede werk.
As the network has many different activities, the women are working together in any activities to use short time. In farms, they have to farm collectively in each member’s farms. Then they can do many activities together. After the work, they discuss about how to develop the network with new projects. Sometimes, they can solve some problems in the network if necessary after the collective work.
The main objective of the network is to help Orphans children. The woman associations are helping the orphans children whose parents have been killed during the civil war or children whose mothers are widows and very poor. Each member of the network has to take care of orphans children. They send the children at school and the fees school become from the account of the network. They have to run business activities in order to get money for all needs of orphans’ children.
Help Burundi foundation is financing Murika Network by money or materials. In that objective, Help Burundi sent a container with clothes, shoes, machines, leathers and different tools. The woman association distributes clothes to orphans children.
MURIKA NETWORK has his own account where they put money from their activities. In this way to do together, each member try to find an amount to put in social cash. Some women have to move house by house to collect the money.
